Dear Sir / Madam:

As well as being a second generation yacht captain, I have been sailing and boating since the age of ten, and professionally from the age of nineteen. I began sailing on dinghies on Lake Kariba in Rhodesia Africa in the early seventies, going on to crew on larger yachts internationally, including Africa, East and West. Israel. The Red Sea. Egypt. The Mediterranean Sea. The Atlantic Ocean. The Indian Ocean. Caribbean. Turks and Caicos Isles. Bahamas. The USA East and West. Cuba. The Cayman Islands. Jamaica, plus the 97-98 Expo Round the World Rally, including regattas on the Mediterranean Sea and the Caribbean. Since that time I have owned, Crewed on as Engineer or Captained Sailboats and Powerboats of all sizes up to two hundred ton's displacement. I have logged sea time both inshore and the deep blue oceans of the world, a total of (120 thousand miles.) I know the Intracoastal Waterway of the USA East Coast, and have traversed it, in poor weather.

My mechanical skills and trouble shooting capacity is excellent. I have a widespread network of support and repair personnel, and the negotiatory skills to arrange for work and or support services without paying a premium. I am computer proficient, and also well versed in the high-tech applications of navigation and communication at all levels. However, if necessary, I could navigate by compass and Dead Reckoning. I have valuable experience maintaining and repairing machinery, plumbing and sewerage systems, as well as hydraulics, pneumatics, water makers, electrical fault finding on both AC and DC systems, minor electronics, bright work, and rigging.

Having been involved in outdoor leadership for over twenty-five years, my risk evaluation and medical training skills are high. I am also very knowledgeable of weather patterns and I understand the characteristics of weather systems.

My keen interest in Geography motivates me to research new cruising grounds beyond the normal navigational, logistical, and gastronomical information needed.

Having operated my own business, I understand the need for proper monthly accounting and minimization of expenditure. I have plenty of experience managing and motivating people.

Because of my reliable experience as a yacht handler, plus my background in human behavior, I feel that I have a lot to offer. I know you desire the highest standards in management and presentation of your yacht.
